I finished Harry potter Book 6 last night around 9:30ish last night. Started it
wednesday around I think it was 9:30ish...and went to bed around 2 that night.
So a total of about 7 hours. Probably would ahve been less if one of my frat
brothers hadn't bothered 6 or seven times over the course of me reading it. (And
about 10 minutes for each interuption..that's an hour of interruptions at least)
so I really read the book in about 5.5 hours...cause there was a food break in
their on wednesday night. I'd say it was good. I won't spoil any plot
twists, though I don't know if J.K. Rowling was trying to do some subliminal
messaging or what have you with a password in the book being
"Abstinence"....maybe it was to make up for all the "snogging" that happens in
the book. Hmm...maybe wizards are a lot more...shall we say..."liberated" than
us muggles?
So I finally broke down and bought a flat panel monitor. and can I just say, it
is sweet. It's a 20.1 widescreen monitor. It's just amazing, great picture
quality, looks perfect on my desk. now I can get rid of my junkie suckie CRT.
And I finally got my video card back and working great...so now my computer is a
suite gaming machine...but come 6 weeks..I must say good bye to it and study. :(
So I modded my XBox so now it basically is a mini home theater computer...it
plays XBox games, has NES and SNES emulation, plays videos and music and
displays pics from the network. And thru it I have become a West Wing fan. My
frat brother Preston started watching them in the living room and I'd catch one
or two. Well with my XBox media center...I've been watching them 2 or 3 a
night...I'm on season 5...and I started late june. I know it's sick and twisted
to watch that much...but that's what good tv does. It draws your attention and
you are able to watch and entire season in a day...(a very long day)...okay
maybe half a season.
Finally balanced my checkbook...which had been unbalanced for um...3
months...yeah. It was a day long process.
Went to summerfest to see Tim Mcgraw and Keith Urban play...was going to try to get
the free grass seats...but the rich Marcus Ampitheater shits decided to charged
$60 a ticket...Hell no I say...so me and my friends went to the mall for a while
,then to a pub...then back to the grounds...and hung around for a while....a
pretty uneventful and relaxing day...with a decent amount of exercise.
In classic mattness...I stapled my finger today at work...me and jeremy had just
finished talking about stapling fingers...and I go and do it. but I remembered
my boy scout traing and put on a tourniquet..twist ties work grate for finger
tourniquets.
My quote of the day...or couple of quotes of the day
Life is all about ass; you're either covering it, laughing it off, kicking it,
kissing it, busting it, trying to get a piece of it, or behaving like one.
Engineers do it with higher frequency, greater intesity and less resistance.
